About the company
Red Dragon Associates Ltd began life as a sole trader in 1997, specialising in consultancy services to the Food & Drinks Industry.

The company works extensively with other consultants across a wide range of disciplines (Sales, NPD, and Training) to be able to offer a full package of expertise in the Food & Drinks Industry.

The principal, Steve Cadwallader has over 25 years experience in the Food & Drinks industries in Technical & Operational roles and holds the status of Fellow of the Institute of Food Science & Technology and Chartered Scientist - the highest awards in recognition of service and experience within the food & drinks industry.

Key business areas

  • Business development (factory, personnel, logistics, packaging lines & product) to achieve expansion into the major retailers.
  • Design & development of Quality Management Systems (BRC and ISO standards).
  • NPD to launch for chilled and frozen products into retailers (incl. M&S, Waitrose, Tesco, ASDA, Morrisons) and wholesalers (Brakes, 3663, etc), for branded (e.g. Cadburys) and own label.
  • Factory design and extension in UK and for overseas clients. Project management and relocation.
  • Interim Technical Management, experienced across most food sectors and with all major retailers.
  • Auditing against a range of Quality Standards, including SALSA, Marine Stewardship Council Chain of Custody, Seafish Quality Processor, Seafish Responsible Fishing Scheme.
  • Development of Food based Franchise Operations.

  • MSc Food Science
  • Fellow of the Institute of Food Science and Technology.
  • Chartered Scientist
  • Lead Assessor ISO 9000: 2000 Series IRCA Accredited course.
  • Diploma in Management Studies (OU) Marketing & Finance.
  • Diploma Master Brewer Packaging.
  • Associate Member of the Institute of Brewing.
  • A range of courses leading to qualifications in HACCP, law (UK & EC, including Contract, Trust, Land & Tort), team awareness and development.
